If I had to name a favourite movie not yet available on DVD, it would be Elio Petri’s “Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion” (1970) [imdb]. It stars a brilliant Gian Maria Volonté as a high-ranking police officer who commits a murder and starts leaving clues to his involvement just to see if anyone would ever suspect him.
A film with such rigorous style and strong artistic vision should ideally be released by the Rolls-Royce of DVD publishers, The Criterion Collection. I went ahead and already designed the DVD cover for them.
