A few weeks ago I posted an awesome Spanish film poster for “The Invisible Man”. I had found it in a collection of posters from around the world and didn’t have any information on it. Then, a few days ago, I was walking through the Catalan National Art Museum in Barcelona when, lo and behold, I was facing a giant advertising column-size print of the exact same poster.
Turns out it was made by Barcelona-born painter Antoni Clavé who for a short while designed and painted movie posters before moving on to abstract paintings. The above slideshow offers a retrospective of his film poster work.
